Description
A winged figure occupies the corner where two ceiling beams meet. It holds a plain shield in front of its body. The wings spread broadly to either side, while carved foliage rises behind them. A dark fitting is visible below the figure.
Heraldry
No device or colour can be distinguished on the shield, so a blazon is not possible.
Condition
The figure and both wings survive, but the carving is worn and much of its surface appears grey. The shield is especially indistinct. The darker fitting below the figure is visible in the original photograph and should not be read as part of the heraldry.
