DBA — Dictionary of British Arms

Dictionary of British Arms: Medieval Ordinary. Four volumes (London: Society of Antiquaries of London, 1992–2014).

  • Volume I: edited by D. H. B. Chesshyre and T. Woodcock, 1992.
  • Volume II: edited by T. Woodcock, Janet Grant and Ian Graham, 1996.
  • Volume III: edited by T. Woodcock and Sarah Flower, 2009.
  • Volume IV: edited by T. Woodcock and Sarah Flower, 2014.

The Dictionary arranges coats of arms by their designs and records their bearers, with references to documentary and material sources. It is the principal heraldic reference used in this survey. References on individual object pages give the volume and printed page number.
