Description
A carved wooden angel with dark curling hair, prominent painted eyes and spread feathered wings holds a large pointed shield. The robe has carved vertical folds and a red collar. The red shield bears six pale diamond-shaped devices arranged in two rows of three, with dark edging and traces of red centres. Paired carved ornament resembling hanging drapery appears behind and above the head.

In plain English: Six white or silver elongated diamonds, arranged in two rows of three, on a red field. The irregular marks within the fusils appear to be paint loss or damage rather than deliberate subsidiary charges.

Condition
The figure retains considerable painted detail, particularly on the face, collar and shield, although the surface is worn and scattered paint losses expose underlying material. A pronounced vertical split runs down the shield, with additional fine cracks towards its lower point. The pale shield devices are abraded and incomplete. The wings retain their feather carving but show chipped edges, small holes and visible fixing points. Paint on the hands and robe is also worn.
