Description
A carved figure with dark hair spreading to either side of the head holds a shield in both hands. The face has painted eyes and a slightly open mouth; the robe is pale grey-green. No wings are visible. The dark shield bears a broad pale diagonal band running from the upper left to the lower right of the photograph. Six roundels, each containing alternating pale and dark wavy horizontal stripes, are arranged three on either side of the band. Those in the lower-left portion are considerably worn.
Heraldry
Provisional blazon: Sable, a bend Argent; in sinister chief three roundels Argent, two and one.
In plain English: A black shield bearing a broad white or silver diagonal band, with three white or silver discs arranged two above one in the upper left side from the bearer’s viewpoint.
The principal pattern is clearly visible, although abrasion makes the original tinctures somewhat uncertain.

Condition
A pronounced split runs down the centre of the forehead towards the eyebrows. The face has scattered paint losses, including damage around the eye on the left of the photograph. The robe, hands and shield show extensive surface wear, with exposed wood and losses particularly noticeable in the shield’s lower-left portion. The diagonal band and upper roundels remain legible. Dark circular recesses are visible on both arms, and cobwebs extend across the face and along the left side of the carving.
