Description
A painted half-length figure at the south edge of Bay PV3, with dark wavy hair, a red garment and a pointed shield held between both hands. The shield is divided vertically. On the viewer’s left, a worn pale field carries a red horizontal band. On the right, a black chevron and black ermine marks remain visible on a pale field.
Heraldry
Partial blazon as depicted: Per pale, dexter a pale field bearing a fess Gules, with any other charges now uncertain; sinister Ermine, a chevron Sable. The original tincture of the dexter field cannot be confirmed.
In plain English: One half has a red horizontal stripe across a pale background, with other details too worn to read. The other has a black inverted V on white, with black ermine marks above and below it. No family identification is proposed.
Condition
The figure and shield remain substantially intact. Paint on the face and red garment is scuffed; the shield’s pale left half has especially extensive flaking and abrasion. The vertical join between the two halves is visible. The black chevron and ermine marks on the right remain relatively clear, while much of the left half is indistinct.
