Description
A forward-facing painted half-length figure at the west beam junction of Bay PV3. It has shoulder-length dark hair, a pale garment with blue collar and gold-coloured roundels, and hands grasping a pointed shield. The shield has horizontal pale bands on a dark field and three pale roundels aligned across its upper dark section.
Heraldry
Blazon as depicted: Sable, two bars Argent, in chief three plates. The dark field appears blue-black in the photograph; its original tincture warrants confirmation.
In plain English: The shield has a dark background, two broad white or silver horizontal stripes, and three white or silver discs arranged in a row along the top. No family identification is proposed.
Condition
The head, hands and shield are intact, and the simple shield design is clear. The face and garment have small chips and rubbing, while the shield’s pale bands show fine cracks and scattered dirt or paint loss. Some wear exposes wood in the striped beam immediately behind the figure. The three roundels remain conspicuous.
