Description

A carved stone corbel depicting a winged angel playing a straight wind instrument, held vertically to its mouth. Both hands grip the instrument, and a row of small holes is visible along its upper section. It resembles a recorder or another end-blown pipe. The angel has flowing hair and wears a long robe with deeply carved folds. Wings rise on either side, and foliage forms the base beneath the figure.

Condition

The angel, its instrument and the principal folds of the robe remain clearly recognisable. Some facial features survive, although they are softened by wear and the photograph’s limited sharpness. The stone has an uneven colour, with small pits, chips and local surface losses. Fine details of the fingers, wings and foliage are less distinct. Cobwebs are visible beside the carving.
