Description
Painted and gilded wooden angel with outstretched wings, holding a pale shield that shows an intricate diagram of the Holy Trinity. The Latin words proclaim: Pater non est Filius (“The Father is not the Son”), Pater non est Spiritus (“The Father is not the Holy Spirit”), Filius non est Spiritus (“The Son is not the Spirit”), yet all three are Deus (“God”).
Condition
Restored and renewed in 2025, the figure is substantially intact and its overall form is clearly visible. The gilding on the robe and wings shows wear and unevenness, while the painted surface of the shield has areas of abrasion and loss, particularly in its lower half. Much of the lettering remains visible, although some details are worn or difficult to read. The painted facial features remain clear.
