Description
A winged angel set diagonally into the south-east corner of the bay. The figure has long dark hair and wears a greenish garment. Its wings rise behind the head, following the angle of the roof timbers. The angel holds a long, curling scroll extending from the raised right hand across the body. Black-letter text survives on the pale surface, although its reading remains uncertain.

No heraldic shield is visible.
Condition
The carving is substantially complete and retains considerable painted decoration. The face and garment are worn, with scattered losses to the painted surface. The wings remain clearly defined. Much of the scroll’s pale ground and black lettering survives, but abrasion and uncertainty in the letter forms prevent a confident transcription.
