Description
A frontal winged angel with an open mouth, wearing a dark garment with a pale neckline. The wings curve outwards on either side of the figure. The angel holds a quartered heraldic shield in front of the body.
Heraldry
Provisional blazon: Quarterly, 1 and 4 fretty; 2 and 3 Ermine, a chevron Gules. The tinctures of the fretty quarters are uncertain.
In plain English: The first and fourth quarters contain an interlaced lattice pattern. The second and third appear to have a white field marked with black ermine spots and a red chevron.
Condition
The head, torso, wings and shield survive, but the figure has suffered considerable surface wear. Painted decoration remains visible on the face, garment and shield. The wing edges are damaged and irregular, with losses particularly evident on the right wing. The available photograph is softer and less evenly lit than the other NA6 images.
