Description
A small carved and painted frontal figure positioned beneath a ceiling rib. The figure has a hooded or shoulder-length hairstyle and is shown immediately above a pointed shield. No wings are visible. Dark and reddish paint survives on the clothing and shield.

This reading is provisional. The apparent tinctures create an unusual colour combination in heraldic terms, and ageing or alteration of the pigments may have affected their present appearance. No identification is proposed.
Condition
The figure and shield appear substantially complete, although the carving is comparatively small and the surface is heavily worn. The facial features remain legible but have suffered abrasion and paint loss. The chevron is clearly visible, while the red field is uneven and faded in places. Cracking and scattered surface losses occur across the shield and surrounding woodwork.
