Description
A carved wooden figure with dark curling hair wears a blue-green robe with vertical folds, a red collar and a small ornament at the throat. Both hands hold a pale scroll across the body, its raised end curling upwards beside the head. The black Gothic inscription appears to read “Reverence yᵉ Lord”—“Reverence the Lord”. No wings are visible in this view.
Condition
Much of the blue-green robe paint survives, with irregular losses particularly on the shoulder, sleeves and raised folds. Extensive surface losses affect the face and hair, interrupting the painted facial details. The collar and hands retain patches of red and pale colour. The scroll’s pale surface is chipped and worn, especially near the hands and edges, but most of its inscription remains legible. The photograph’s slight softness limits assessment of finer surface detail.
